Origin
Founded in New Zealand, headquartered in Brisbane.
Sensium was founded in New Zealand in 2005, at a time when fleet telematics was largely a tracking-and-mapping product and the data sovereignty conversation hadn't started. Australian operations were established in 2011 and Brisbane became the headquarters as the customer base expanded across both countries. The company remains Australian-owned - notably as the rest of the market consolidated under foreign ownership.

What we believe
Telematics is becoming infrastructure.
Fleet telematics started as tracking and mapping. Today the data feeds council finance, government compliance, utility crew safety, mining productivity, agricultural seasonality, and distribution accuracy. Sensium has built the platform on the view that telematics deserves to be treated as infrastructure: hardware that lasts, data hosted in Australia, and one accountable supplier.

One team is accountable for all of it, which is why custom feature requests are built in-house and why fleet data stays in Australia end-to-end.
